Alum offers general skincare and hygiene benefits like reducing body odor and tightening pores, you can rub alum on your underarms daily as a natural deodorant, provided your skin tolerates it well, is a traditional and effective home remedy for mouth ulcers(canker sores). It works as an astringent that shrinks soft tissue, draws out fluid, and helps the sore heal faster, though it can cause a brief stinging sensation when applied
- Fights bacteria: Alum is a mineral salt with natural antibacterial properties that kill the bacteria responsible for body odor.
- Acts as an astringent: It tightens pores and helps reduce minor inflammation from shaving.
- Does not block sweat: Unlike conventional antiperspirants, alum allows normal, healthy sweating while controlling the smell.
- Make a paste: Mix a tiny pinch of alum powder with a single drop of water.
- Apply it: Dab the paste directly onto the mouth ulcer.
- Wait: Leave it on for about one minute. Do not swallow it.
- Rinse: Spit it out and rinse your mouth thoroughly with clean water.
- Frequency: Do this once a day until the sore feels better. Do not overuse it, as high amounts can irritate the mouth
